Printer display reads "Remove USB device from printer."

HP Photosmart 7525

HP Photosmart 7525.  My display reads, "Remove USB device from printer."

There isn't a device connected to the printer.

I have already tried the process where I unplugged the printer from the wall, and disconnected the power cord from the printer.  Then held the power button to remove an further charge, then plugged the printer in directly to a wall outlet.  This did not solve the issue.

What will solve this issue?

@NHildebrand, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Is the printer not connected to a computer?

Do you see this error on the printer screen?

Check for a USB cable or a USB thumb drive/flash drive connected to the printer and disconnect it.

The USB cable may be connected at the back of the printer where as the USB thumb drive/flash drive could be connected at the front of the printer.

Also, check for any SD card inserted in the printer and remove the same.

If the issue persists, update the printer firmware

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

There is nothing plugged into the printer.

I just finished updating the Firmware, and the display still reads "Remove USB Device from printer."

We'll have to perform a reset on the Printer for this. I have sent you a private message, for more details that cannot be shared in a public post.

Please do check your inbox on the forums page for the private message.
