This is a replacement printer because my last HP printer would not print on photo paper. It is a common HP fault that they appear to be unable to solve. I have updated ALL the software and drivers, cleaned everything, installed new ink cartridges and purchased every weight and type of photo paper known to man and still it does not work. I am also now 4 days out of Warranty. What do I do now?

Hello there! I am happy to help troubleshoot.
Please elaborate the issue. Is there an error message? If so, what is the exact error message, and what program is displaying the error?
I see you are trying to print from Sierra. Is this a software issue or a hardware issue in that perhaps the printer is trying to pick up the paper but the paper is not moving through?
Providing as many details as possible will help me help you.
Thanks!

Hi, it is not the computer or the paper, I have brought an HP 7610 from my other office and it works perfectly printing photos with any of the papers that I have (glossy, Matte, 180g, 225g, Advanced etc). The problem appears to be common to Office jets, there is no fault message shown. Sometimes it prints half the page, sometimes just an inch and sometimes nothing at all and it always leaves black roller lines on the back of the page. I am convinced that it is a paper feed fault with these printers. It prints a photo on plain paper just fine although the quality is not great.

I have tried that before and I cannot see what difference it would make as it works wifi to a different HP printer and it works wifi to the problem printer as long as plain paper is used ...it is a paper feed problem. Thanks anyway

It could be a power issue. So as mentioned earlier, a direct USB connection might be a workaround.

My suggestion is to clean the paper feed rollers, which might help resolve glossy paper not feeding properly:
- A long, lint-free cotton swab
- Distilled, filtered, or bottled water (tap water might damage the printer)
- Turn off the printer, and then disconnect the power cord and any other cables.
WARNING:
You must disconnect the power cord before reaching inside the printer to avoid risk of injuries or electric shock. - Lift up and push back the cartridge access door.Figure : Opening the ink cartridge access door
- Lightly dampen the swab with the water, and then squeeze any excess liquid from the swab.
- Press the swab against the rollers inside the printer, and then rotate the rollers upwards with your fingers. Apply a moderate amount of pressure to remove any dust or dirt buildup.Figure : Clean the rollers in the cartridge access area
- Allow the rollers to dry completely (approximately 10 minutes).
- Close the ink cartridge access door.Figure : Closing the cartridge access door
- Reconnect the power cord and any other cables to the rear of the printer, and then turn on the printer.

- Turn the printer so that the rear access door faces you.
- Press the two tabs inward to open the rear access door, and then remove any jammed paper.Figure : Opening the rear access door

- Repeat the cleaning steps on the paper path cover rollers.Figure : Cleaning the paper path cover rollers

- Insert the paper path cover back into the printer.
- Close the rear access door.
- Reconnect the power cord and any other cables to the rear of the printer, and then turn on the printer.
