 Back in May I called HP regarding the broken update situation that me and many other people have been facing, to this day the printer still won’t update properly and HP have been completely silent on the issue. This is a PSA to anyone thinking of buying a HP printer; don’t. 

support is terrible and definitely planned obsolescence at this point. I’ve tried everything from updating through the HP app to downloading the update manually. The problem in case someone from HP is listening is that the printer is trying to download an update from the database that no longer exists but the request command wasn’t removed, so the printer thinks there is an update when in fact there isn’t one available. I’m cancelling my instant ink subscription since HP hire absolutely clueless technicians.

Firmware update on HP OfficeJet Pro 9010 won't load and keeps printer offline. I cannot change "Auto Update" setting to NO to stop this. We have tried to fix this loop for 6 days. We are ready to donate the printer and get a Canon.

Hi @PenguinPrint 

You can run a complete diagnostic check on the printer from the HP print and scan doctor app here, isolate the issue.

 

Once downloaded, open the tool, click on add printer on top and select your printer and click on fix printing option and follow the on screen instructions to complete the diagnostic test and resolve the same.
