HP Envy110 Model D411c. I printed a page, the door opened, the extender arm came out but was partially blocked. The printed page was in the tray and was retrieved, the extender arm retracted, but the printer door did not close completely. I have printed pages since, all works well except for the door. It closes partway and stops. No warnings appear on the screen. I have to shut down to allow the door to close. Help!

OK I have a solution thanks to perserverence and the UK helpline. At least it works for my Envy 120e All In One.
The door / front panel always returns to the position where the job was started. I do not remember starting a job with the panel in the up position, but apparently I did.
Solution: With printer powered on, gently push the door closed. Now print or copy. As the job started with the door closed it will return to that same positon when the job is complete.
Why oh why is anybody's guess. Good luck!

Hello arkienewbie,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums! I understand the door on your HP Envy 110 will not close properly after a print, you are required to unplug the printer from it's power source to get the door closed.
I want to make sure of the following:
1. You are plugged directly into a wall outlet, having the printer plugged into a surge protector or extension cord can cause the printer to not get enough power to function properly.
2. That the printers firmware is up to date. You can do this on the front panel of our Envy:
Getting the Latest Firmware and Product Updates
3. Make sure that the paper loaded inside the machine is not causing the door to not close. Make sure you have loaded atleast 10 pages and no more than 25 pages.
Please let me know if these changes have fixed the door, if you are still running into problems I will watch for your reply.
Thank you,

I do not have to unplug from the power source to get the door to close. I turn off / shut down on the front panel. I used the link for latest firmware and updates. Downloaded what appeared to be a "set up" software and have since checked on the front panel. Indicates that I am up to date. Checked paper load ...14 sheets. I am printing fine but the door still won't close. I am plugged in through a surge protector but had no problems with that in the past.

Even though you have always had the printer plugged into a surge protector and had no problems does not mean that this could not be causing the problem. It could have lost power over time and may be causing it to not get enough power to do the basic functions as indicated in my original recommendation.

I plugged the printer directly into a wall receptacle and the problem continues ~ prints fine but door closes about 1/2 way and the door panel stays lit up. Beginning to wonder if it is a mechanical issue.
Appreciate your suggestions, thank you.
