Trying to install printer driver for HP DeskJet 1200C on Mac OS 10.9. Have downloaded the file 7 times and run Unarchiver. But when I double click on the install file the sy stem says the file cannot be opened as it is as the file may be damaged or incomplete.
It looks as though HP web support has left out a file as what downloads is only "Disk One."
How can I ask HP to verify?
Thanks,
MJ

Hi MJ32,
could it be you are downloading the Mac OS X 9 driver from the ilnk below?
http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/swd/public/readIndex?sp4ts.oid=61599&swLangOid=8&swEnvOid=13
note the driver is only for Mac OS X 9, and is not compatible with Mac OS X 10.9.
If your HP printer is no longer supported in this Mac OS X version, you might want to consider purchasing a new printer. Go to the HP Store to upgrade to an HP printer that provides all the great features you are looking for in a Mavericks compatible printer.
here's the list of HP printers that are compatible with Mac OS X 10.9, http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03960660
hope it helps.

Hi @MJ32
The printer is not supported on Mavericks indeed and officially no drivrs are offered.
Altough it is not officially suppoirted you may still try te 3rd party GutenPrint drivers which seems to support your printer and compatible with your OS:
http://gimp-print.sourceforge.net/p_Supported_Printers.php
You may download it below:
http://gimp-print.sourceforge.net/MacOSX.php
Once completing the installation, add the printer under Printers & Scanners.
Within the Use drop down menu click on Select Printer Software and select the Deskjet 1200c driver by GutenPrint / Gimp.

Shlomi
