Printer error

I went to use my HP8620 yesterday to find a Printer error duisplayed on the screen.  It said "Please turn Printer off, then on".  All the lights were flashing.  I turned the printer off, then on and the printer went through its start up phase.  Almost immediately the screen went black, then blue and finally the Printer Error appeared again on a white background.

I have repeated this procedure numerous times both switching off the printer and unplugging it.  I have disconnected and reconnected the USB connection to my PC.  Each time the Printer Error reappears.  While the screen is momentarily blue there is a code number B840E9E2 displayed.

Sometimes my PC will flash a message that the device attached to the USB is not recognised.

Hello, 

Please try the below steps..

1. While the printer is ON, unplug the power cord from back of the printer.
2. unplug the USB cable from back of the printer if any.
3. Power Off the Wireless Router.
4. Wait for 30 seconds.
5. Plug in the power cord to the printer.
6. Check if any error shows up.
7. When printer is ready, make a Copy. Check if the error exists.
8. Power On the Wireless Router.
9. Check if the error exists.

I'm afraid I posted too soon.  Yesterday morning the printer error was back.  I repeated the steps without connecting the USB to see if this might give a permanent solution.

Unfortunately not, the printer error is back again today.  It seems that I can use this method to get a day's printing done but will have to repeat it everyday!

Touch the wireless icon on the printer.
Turn off the wireless.
Now try printing using USB connection.

Here the same problem

Just got in my new HP officejet 8620. During installation / connection to the network getting the error B840E09E2. 

Can use your trick but I did not buy a printer with Wifi tio use it via a USB cable

Are there any other solutions to get this solved?

Yes we can let ou know our wireless routers.

We have 2 operational and both trigger the same error:

- Cisco Linksys E4200

- unlabeled brand by our internet supplier

The only way to get his printer working is via USB, so wifi module does not work. I tried to make a hotspot out of my phone and connect the printer to this network, same problem / error occurs.

It turned out that my problem was caused by a known error with my Ubee router.  I replaced the router and have had no problems since.

I am having the same issue with my Officejet Pro 8600.  The panel is flashing & the display screen says Printer Error Please turn Power off and then On.  When the printer reboots it comes up with a blue scrren with a number, then quickly to the flashing lights.  The numbers have been different, But I was able to catch one, B86B7D96.  

I tried your trouble shooting of unplugging printer & powering off router, that did not fix my problem.  I have a ASUS router, Model RT-AC68R.

My problems began after a recent security software down load.
