My printer is not used very often.
I have printed a page today and most of the text is missing.
I have therefore replaced the black ink, cleaned the printheads and aligned the printheads.
The problem still persists but is not quite so severe. It is now missing part lines of text.
On seeking help I was taken to computer/Windows 10 problems and told to update Windows 10. I recently updated Windows 10 after having issues with Windows 10 in other areas.
Is it Windows 10 that is causing this printing issue or it it purely my printer that is causing the problem?
P.S. I have selected the board "Inkjet printing" but I don't actually know which is the correct board for this issue.

Remove the color cartridge & try printing again.

Thank you for the advice. I have removed the colour cartridge and printed again.
Unfortunately this has made no difference at all. There are solid lines of print, faded lines of print and lines of print with the bottom of the characters missing.
I think I had this problem a number o years ago but cannot remember what the solution was.

After following the advice to remove the colour cartridge which made no difference to the faulty print. I replaced the same colour cartridge which is half full of ink and my printer told me the cartridges were not compatible and not genuine HP cartridges.
I am using genuine HP cartridges so I have had to replace the colour cartridge with a new one even though it is still half full.
After printing the test page which clearly shows the print fault I have scanned it as requested. The printer is accepting the scanned page as "OK" even though you can clearly see the print fault.

As a test try printing with only the color cartridge.

Thank you for the advice to remove the black cartridge and print with the colour cartridge only.
I am very hesitant to follow this advice as I have already had to waste a half full colour cartridge by following the previous advice.
If the same issue arises again I will be wasting a full black cartridge as there is a chance that my printer will reject the black cartridge when it is placed back in the printer.
As I said previously I had this print issue before and remedy did not include removing the cartridges and printing using only one cartridge.
There must be another solution. I have already wasted a cartridge and a whole load of paper trying to resolve this issue. I cannot afford to waste any more money on this issue.
The printer now has two new full cartridges in place. I do not have anymore cartridges available to replace again.

It is not normal for the printer to reject good ink cartridges, is the warranty over?

The printer did reject the colour cartridge removed on your advice given at 17.07 today even telling me my cartridge was not genuine. I agree that the printer should not reject a previously used and genuine cartridge.
The warranty has expired as the printer is a few years old. This print issue has only happened today. The printer was last used last week and it was fine then.
I am currently updating drivers, software and the latest Windows 10 updates to see if this helps.

Also check the printer firmware to make sure it is up to date.
