Hi
thanks for sharing the info with us.
It seems like the driver is not uninstall properly.
Could you help to try the following:
- Uninstall the SW/driver from the Control Panel\Programs\Programs and Features. U could refer this support doc: https://support.hp.com/sg-en/document/c02259020
- On the magnifying glass at the bottom left of your PC, type in: Printmanagement.msc
- On the left hand side of the panel, you will see 2 folders "All Printers" and "All Drivers"
- Remove your device <HP Printer Model Name> completely from these 2 folders.
- Next, reinstall the driver/app of you preference from https://support.hp.com/sg-en/drivers/printers
- Ensure latest KB is installed. In the magnifying glass at the bottom left of your PC, type in "Check for updates".
Let us know how is the status. thanks.
Another info that we need is:
- In the magnifying glass at the bottom left of your PC, type in: view your update history.
- Could you share us a copy of the update history?

Well the plot thickens. 🙂
I have unstalled and reinstalled several different drivers several times. This time I only installed the problematic printer, whihc showed up as a printer with a driver and tried to print. It seemed to install properly but I got an error when printing a test page. But I was able to print a report when I connected via the IP address menu. I then installed the other printer (same driver) and it printed fine. So I deleted the problem printer and resintalled it. At that point, the driver was unavailable and the printer shows up as a scanner again.
printmanangment.msc only gives an error message as unavailable. I followed the instructions at https://www.exefiles.com/en/msc/printmanagement-msc/ (Step 2) and it said it corrected corrupted files. But printmanangment.msc still doesn't exist.
