Hi @Vandy10,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand the "E" error on your HP DeskJet Plus 4120 usually indicates a paper jam or a mechanical issue. Here are some steps to try to resolve it:
1. Clear Paper Jams
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Open the ink cartridge access door and check for any paper stuck inside the printer.
- Remove any paper or bits of paper carefully to avoid tearing, especially around the rollers.
2. Inspect the Paper Path and Rollers
- Check if there is any paper stuck at the input and output trays.
- Open the rear access door (if available) and ensure there’s no paper stuck inside.
- Use a flashlight to see if any small bits are lodged in hard-to-reach areas.
3. Adjust the Paper Settings and Tray
- Ensure the paper is loaded correctly and not overloaded.
- Adjust the paper guides snugly against the paper stack without bending the sheets.
4. Perform a Hard Reset
- Unplug the printer while it is still on, wait 60 seconds, and then plug it back in.
- Turn the printer back on, wait for it to initialize, and try printing again.
5. Run a Printer Self-Test
- Try printing a test page to check if the issue is resolved.
- If the printer successfully prints the test page, the issue may be with the document or print job you were trying to print initially.
