HP LaserJet Pro M1217nfw Multifunction Printer
Microsoft Windows 11

I have an HP laser jet pro m1217nfw mfp printer that is printing at 25%.  I checked the scaling in the respective apps and it's at 25%.  The test print page even prints at 25%.  Is there anywhere else I need to look to check the scale?

Thank you.

Hi @Pivot09,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand your HP LaserJet Pro M1217nfw Multifunction Printer is printing at 25% scale, even for test pages, and you've already checked the scaling settings in your apps. Here are a few more places to investigate:

Steps to Check and Reset Scaling Settings

  1. Reset Printer Settings via Control Panel:
    • On the printer’s button panel, press the Setup button (wrench icon).
    • Use the arrow buttons to navigate to Service or Restore Defaults.
    • Select Restore Defaults and confirm.
    • This will reset any internal settings that might be affecting scaling.

  2. Check Scaling in Windows Printer Preferences:
    • On your PC, go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
    • Right-click on your printer and select Printing Preferences.
    • Look for any scalingzoom, or layout settings and ensure they are set to 100% or None.

  3. Reinstall the Printer Driver:
  4. Print Configuration Page:
    • On the printer, press the Setup button.
    • Navigate to Reports > Config Report and print it.
    • Check if the configuration page also prints at 25%. If yes, it confirms a printer-side setting or firmware issue.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
