Hi @Darlene77,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

I understand you are facing printer offline issue on your printer and you need assistance to fix it.

Not to worry I'll do everything I can to help get this sorted for you.

Let us update the firmware of your printer to resolve the offline issue.

Make sure the printer is turned on and connected to your computer.

Click on the link below to download the firmware for your printer model.

Update the Firmware via Wi-Fi Direct or USB Cable

Connect the computer to your printer's Wi-Fi Direct using the following graphic.

Note: For the network security key, use the Wi-Fi Direct password available in the Printer Information Page.

Execute the downloaded HP Printer Update file. On the HP Printer Update screen, check the status of your printer.

If your network printer does not display, use a USB cable (if available or crew USB cable to customer) to temporarily connect your printer to the computer. Wait for 20 seconds, and then click Refresh.

If the status is Ready, select the check box next to the serial number, and then click Update.

CAUTION: To avoid damaging your printer, do not turn off the printer during a firmware update.

Restore the printer to the default network settings, and then use HP Smart to connect the printer to your Wi-Fi network.

Step 1:

Restore network default settings on the printer, to do that - Press and hold the Wireless  and Cancel  buttons until the Power button flashes, and then wait for the Wireless light to flash.

Step 2:

Uninstall and re-install the HP Smart app on your computer/mobile device.

Place the printer and the computer or mobile device near the Wi-Fi router.

Turn on Wi-Fi on your computer or mobile device and connect to your network. If the computer is connected to the network with an Ethernet cable, temporarily disconnect the cable and use the Wi-Fi connection during the setup.

Enable Bluetooth on the computer or mobile device so that HP Smart can detect the printer during the setup.

After installing HP Smart for iOS and Android, enable the mobile device location service and allow the app to use your location to detect the printer and offer solutions during setup.

Download the HP Smart app from 123.hp.com (Android, Apple iOS, iPadOS).

In HP Smart, click Add Printer or the plus sign to search for the printer, and then follow the instructions to complete the setup.

If this solution hit the spot, please come back and click "Accepted Solution" to help others find the answer. And if you'd like to say thanks, select "Yes" on the bottom left of the public post, as that would make our day!

Take care, and have an amazing day!

Regards,
