Hey @Janet19,

Thanks for getting back to me regarding this issue! 🙂

At this point a replacement Printhead would be required to resolve this issue. The Printhead is covered under the manufacturers warranty on this product, and the HP Extended Service Warranty Plan. If your printer is out of warranty a replacement Printhead can be purchased.

  • The Part Number for a replacement Printhead is: CR322A

  • The Printhead can be purchased from the HP Parts Store or by calling our Technical Support queue by phone: (888) 747-7948

I wish you luck going forward with this. Take care! 🙂

Hey there @Schnelldaniels,

I'm very happy to hear that a replacement Printhead resolved this issue! 🙂

The Printhead comes with full set of Setup Cartridges that must be installed and used first with the new Printhead. The Setup Cartridges help to 'prep' the Printhead and get the print system ready in your product. If you currently have ink in your machine, you can take out the cartridges and store them until the Setup Cartridges have been used. This way ink will not be wasted! 🙂

Once the Setup Cartridges are depleted, simply take your original cartridges and reinstall them in your printer.

I hope this helps to clear up any confusion about those Setup Cartridges. Take care! 🙂

That was 6 months ago.  I used the ink cartridges that were in my old printerhead.  Is there any way I can use these set up cartridges?

Hey @Schnelldaniels,

The Printhead is programmed to be used with 1 set of Setup Cartridges. If you already used a set of Cartridges in your new Printhead, then those cartridges are going to programmed, as per the chip in the cartridge, to work with that specific Printhead. New Setup Cartridges likely wont be read by that Printhead. I'd suggest that you give our Technical Support queue a call as there may be a way to swap out those cartridges for ones that you can use.

Good luck! 🙂

I have an HP ENVY 4500 All-in-one printer is on our home wireless network. The printer prints from my ipad but not from my PC, which it did previously.
I have followed the instructions in HP Print and Scan Doctor and used troubleshooting tools. I have unplugged and reset several times. I have uninstalled and re-installed both the printer and the HP software. I have updated the software. I have checked paper, ink, clean printer head. There are no paper jams. The printer does not even print a blank page from the PC. The message ‘Scan to Computer is no longer activated’ pops up from time to time but the wireless connection is fine. It does not print a test page but it does print an internal test page. It also prints a Printer Status Report. I have restored the factory Defaults. I have re-set/checked my Wireless Direct. When attempting to print a document: Error message: Windows cannot print due to a problem with the current printer setup. I have removed all other printers from my PC and the HP Envy is the default printer.
