HP Envy 6452e

My printer has been stuck in scanning mode for months now.  I cannot print anything.  I have tried unplugging the printer for 60 seconds then plugging back in but that does not work.  (I've even tried leaving it unplugged for an extended period of time.)

I have attempted to use HP Print and Scan Doctor.  It recognizes my printer at Step 1 and allows me to start the process of communicating with it.  However, once that process completes, I get the following screen:

As mentioned, I have already tried all of these things.  So, I'm at a loss as to what to do now.

Hi @Mokke ,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you've tried several troubleshooting steps already. If your HP Envy 6452e printer remains stuck in scanning mode and you're unable to print, here are a few additional steps you can try:

Check for Paper Jams: Make sure there are no paper jams or obstructions inside the printer that might be causing the issue.

Update Printer Firmware: Visit the HP support website and check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer model. Sometimes, updating the firmware can resolve persistent issues. Software and Drivers for HP ENVY 6452e All-in-One Printer

Reset the Printer: Perform a hard reset on the printer. To do this, turn off the printer, disconnect the power cord, and wait for about 2-3 minutes. Then, reconnect the power cord and turn on the printer.

Check Scanner Settings: Ensure that the scanner settings on your computer are correctly configured. Sometimes, misconfigured settings can cause scanning issues.

Reinstall Printer Drivers: Uninstall the printer drivers from your computer and then reinstall them. Make sure you download the latest drivers from the HP website that are compatible with your operating system.

Check for Hardware Issues: If none of the above steps resolve the issue, there might be a hardware problem with the printer. Contact HP support for further assistance or consider taking the printer to a service center for inspection.

Hi Gaya,

I've tried all of these things previously.  I've never even used my scanner on the printer before, so I have no idea how it even got switched to scanning mode let alone stuck on scanning mode.

Are there any other things I can try?
