I've tried to follow your instruction but: My Account says USER then gives my email address followed by Administrator. When I type in my email address and press check it doesn't recognise it. I've also tried typing my name and Administrator but none are recognised. I've searched My Account for a Username but it doesn't give one. Is the email address my username, if so it isn't recognised! I'm afraid my nearly new printer is destined for the skip - I doubt I'll be buying any HP products in the future

Welcome to HP support community.
Provide the printer model number or the product number?
Could you explain about the issue you are facing with the printer?
Are you getting any error message?
Which operating system is installed on the computer to which this printer is connected?
Reply with the requested information for more assistance.
Cheers.

The same solution did (finally) worked for me to solve the office printing issue on an HP LaserJet Pro M478f-9f with a Windows 7 + Office 2007 computer, as well as with a Windows 8.1 + Office 2013 one. Same issue as described above, printing pdf and pictures, but when trying to print from office (word, excel, powerpoint) the printer was waking up... but no print was coming out.
Thanks, good piece of advice!

Hello, I am having the same problem with my new HP printer as well. I have installed and uninstalled to no avail. I have also followed your directions above and made sure my username is correct and I have full control settings. However, I still cannot print directly from a word document or from a google doc. The only way I can print is if I open a PDF from the HP Smart app.

Great! Fixed at first attempt. I am not very comfortable when it comes to altering settings and the mysterious workings of a computers components, but your guide was easy enough even for me to follow. Keep it up!
