Hello! Trying to print in color on 5x7 envelopes, but it won't deposit any color. Cartridges are not empty, it feeds the paper through, acts as if it's printing and does not print in color. It will print in black only. If I put regular paper in, it prints in color. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

It sounds like your HP ENVY 6055 is having trouble printing in color specifically on 5x7 envelopes. 

 

Here are some steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

 

1. Check Printer Settings

  • When printing, click Show Details in the print dialog box on your Mac.
  • Ensure the Color Mode is set to Color and not Grayscale or Black & White.
  • Verify that the paper type is set to Envelope and the size is correctly selected as 5x7.

 

2. Update Printer Drivers

  • Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
  • Select your printer, click Options & Supplies, and check for driver updates.
  • Alternatively, download the latest drivers from the HP Support website.

 

3. Test with a Different Application

  • Try printing the envelope from another app, such as Preview or Safari, to see if the issue persists.

 

4. Clean the Printhead

  • Use the HP Smart app or the printer's control panel to run a printhead cleaning cycle. This can help if the color nozzles are clogged.

 

5. Reset the Printer

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it for about 30 seconds.
  • Plug it back in, turn it on, and try printing again.

 

6. Check Ink Levels

  • Ensure the color cartridge has sufficient ink. Even if it prints on regular paper, the envelope settings might require more ink.

 

7. Update Firmware

  • Check for firmware updates via the HP Smart app or the HP Support website. Firmware updates can resolve bugs or compatibility issues.
