HP Envy 5660
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

My Envy 5660 will no longer print the gridlines froom my any of my Excel spreadsheets.

In the printer settings, under Print Features, i clicked the "Advanced" button.

The "Page Borders" feature is set to OFF and will not allow me to change it to ON.

This feature may have been changed a few weeks ago when I went to a website called "Driver Supprt", thinking it was an official HP website.  I have since uninstalled "Driver Supprt".

Can anyone help me.

Open an excel sheet, click on file, and then click print. Once it is open, click on page set up in the very bottom.

Once it is opened, click on the sheet tab, then put a check mark before Grid-lines, and the select "as displayed on sheet" under comments.

Hi Barachiel,

1) I tried what you said & the only thing  change that I had to make was in the comments box from "none" to "as displayed on sheet".

2) I printed the spreadsheet & it did not print  the gridlines.

3) So I  repeated all the steps you said, and this time on the sheet tab I also checked the box "Black & White", just under the "Gridlines" box.

4) I printed the s/s again & it worked!  All the gridlines printed! Yay!

Thank you so much for your help.  It never occured to me to change the comments box.   🙂

It works to do as you suggested to print the gridlines in Excel but only on the spreadsheet I am working on.

I would like to set it to always print the gridlines on every spreadsheet. How do I do that?

some horizontal gridlines do not print from an excel worksheet although they are there in print preview. doing the suggested changes to page setup did not help.

@jrsyangl1 Welcome to HP Community!

Let's start with running the HP Print and Scan Doctor:

Use this link for details on using the HP Print and Scan doctor: click here

If the issue persists, let's do a root uninstall and reinstall of the software:

Unplug any USB cable, if any, before doing this.

1.) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features

2.) Select your HP Printer

3.) Select Uninstall

4.) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers

5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose 'Delete' or 'Remove Device'

6.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.

7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”)

8.) Click on the "Drivers" tab

9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom

10.) Select Ok

11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows

12.) Close Devices and Printers

13.)  Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.

14.) Type c:/programdata and click Ok. Go to Hewlett Packard folder, remove any printer related folders & files.

15.) Restart the computer.

Once done, please download and install the software from here

Keep me posted, as I (Or a trusted colleague) shall follow-up on this case to ensure the concern has been addressed,

And your device is up and running again, only in case you don't get back to us, first!

That said, If the information I've provided was helpful, give us some reinforcement by clicking the solution and kudos buttons,

That'll help us, and others see that we've got the answers!

Good Luck.
