I attach the scan of the prints, where several errors appear.
Unfortunately it seems that it is not possible to attach the original PDF files, which I think would be helpful in diagnosing the problem...

Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding print errors on the HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M281fdw!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Try these steps:
Check Printer Connection
Ensure your printer is properly connected to your network or via USB and that your Mac has detected and installed the correct printer drivers.
Update Printer Drivers
Updating your printer drivers can resolve many issues. Here’s how to ensure you have the latest drivers:
- HP Easy Start: Download HP Easy Start from the HP Support website.
- Install Drivers: Follow the on-screen instructions to install the latest drivers for your printer model.
Verify Printer Settings
Check your printer settings in the print dialog to ensure they are correct:
- Quality Settings: Set the print quality to standard or best.
- Paper Type: Choose the correct paper type settings according to the media you are printing on.
Print Color Management
Ensure that color management settings are properly configured:
- ColorSync: Use ColorSync or change Color Options in the print dialog to match your print job requirements.
Test Print
Perform a test print to see if the issue is resolved:
- Print Diagnostic Page: Print a diagnostic page from the printer’s control panel to identify issues.
Reset Printing System
To reset the printing system on macOS:
- System Preferences: Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
- Reset Printing System: Right-click in the printers list and select Reset printing system.
- Re-add Printer: Re-add your HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M281fdw.

The printer is up to date and it is connected to the home network.
It should not be an operating system related issue, as it occurs when sending documents from other devices.
I also encountered the same problem with another printer, same model.
I think the printer otf interpreter is making mistakes.
Here's a link with the PDF sources.

Hi @French_Tower,
Thank you so much for the update and for sharing that the issue persists across multiple devices and even with a different printer of the same model.
Recommended Workarounds
Convert PDF to Print-Optimized Format
Before printing, try converting the PDF into a format that's more printer-friendly:
Use Adobe Acrobat Pro or PDF24 Tools to:
"Flatten" the PDF or
Export to an image-based PDF.
This ensures all fonts and glyphs are rasterized or embedded properly, bypassing printer font interpretation.
Print as Image (via Adobe Acrobat)
If you're using Acrobat:
Open the PDF in Adobe Acrobat.
Go to Print > Advanced.
Enable “Print As Image” (choose 300 DPI).
Print the file.
This forces Acrobat to rasterize the content, which avoids font rendering issues at the printer level.
I hope this helps.
