Just purchased the HP OfficeJet Pro 7740 Wide Format All-in-One Printer, and installation was a breeze. However when our clerk prints checks the alignment is a problem. The check lines are printing two lines above where they should be printing. No changes to the software - we are using quikbooks for all our check printing - payables an payroll.
Consulted with INTUIT - quikbooks software support and they can not find the problem.
Has anyone else experienced this issue? Is there something I have forgotten to do with the installation?
Thanks for any help!

Hey there! @Lynnview-Tech, Thanks for stopping by the HP Support Forums!
I understand when you print special forms it's printing in improper alignment.
Don't worry I'll try to help you out.
Did you make any changes to your printer?
Have you tried checking with a different brand paper?
Check the paper size setting to make sure it matches the paper you want to print.
NOTE:
Some printers have an option to ignore the error and continue printing. If you choose to ignore the error, the margins on your printout might not be proportional to the edges of the paper.
In the program, you want to print from, click File, and then click Print.
Make sure your printer is in the Name or Printers drop-down list box, and then click Properties, Printer Properties or Preferences.
Click the Paper/Quality tab.
Click Advanced, if necessary, and then click Paper Size.
Select the paper size that matches the size and type of paper loaded in the printer tray, and then click OK. If there are no matching paper sizes, select the size from the list that is closest to the size of the paper loaded in the tray.
Click OK, and then try to print.
NOTE:
If you are printing envelopes, you might need to change the mail settings of the program you are printing from in addition to adjusting print settings in the driver. For information on changing envelope settings in Microsoft Word, see How do I adjust the envelope settings in Microsoft Word? in the FAQ section of this document.
Refer this article to further troubleshoot alignment issues.
I'll keep an eye out for your response.
I hope you have a great day!

The checks we print are on Standard 8.5 X 11 paper. The top third is used for the check, the middle portion of the paper is stub for any notations regarding payment, and the bottom portion is blank.
Standard paper reports are printing properly. We only experience the problems when printing checks from the quickbooks application.
I will try your suggestions but honestly don't think the problem is relative to paper size.
Sorry for the delay in response. Our offices are only open on Monday and Tuesday. That is when the clerk works and that is when I have access (although limited), to her equipment.

Hi! @Lynnview-Tech, Thanks for getting back to us.
I appreciate your efforts for trying out the steps.
As you mentioned the issue persists when your print only cheques.
Try installing the windows built in drivers and check if it helps.
Please try the steps recommended below to install windows built in driver.
Install the built-in print driver over a wireless or wired (Ethernet) network connection on a computer with Windows 10 or Windows 8.
Search Windows for devices, and then click Devices and Printers in the list of results.
Click Add a printer.
A Choose a device or printer to add to this PC window opens.
If your printer is in the list, select it, click Next, and then follow the on-screen instructions to install the driver. You can now use your printer.
If your printer is not on the list, continue to the next step.
Click The printer I want isn't listed, and then select Add a local printer or network printer with manual settings.
Click Next.
Select the port to be used by your printer, such as 'USB001' for a USB connected printer, and then click Next.
Click Windows Update, and then wait for the print drivers to update.
Click HP, Hewlett-Packard, or Hewlett Packard in the Manufacturer pane, and then click the name of your printer in the Printers pane.
If your printer is in the list, select it, click Next, and then follow the on-screen instructions to install the driver. You can now use your printer.
If your printer is not in the list, click the back arrow in the upper left corner of the window two times to return to the Find a printer by other options step, and then continue to the next step.
Select Add a printer using TCP/IP address or hostname, and then click Next.
Select Autodetect from the Device type drop-down list.
Type your printer IP address into the text box, and then click Next.
You can find the IP address by printing either a Wireless Network Test report or a Network Configuration page. For printers with displays, the IP address displays on the printer control panel through the wireless icon or button.
Wait for the computer to connect to the printer, and then click Next to install the print driver.
Refer this article to know more information about installing windows built in drivers.
Let me know if this works!
Have a great day ahead! 🙂

This issue has never been resolved. In my case I print lables flawlessley on an HP 7612 and alignment has never been an issue. On the 7740, the same labels, same file, prints 4mm high on the page. In other words the printing starts 4mm early, no matter what "fix" or other pointless exercise in trying to make it print right that we try. I am ready to recycle this printer! Last chance... does someone have a real fix? Really does appear to be a driver or printer firmware issue!
I hope someone can figure this out soon!
