Exactly.  This is the issue with my 452DN PageWide piece of garbage.  Totally useless.  I spend more time acting like a computer nerd, trying to find icons, switch trays, than I do printing my work.  If I wanted to be a coder I would have majored in computer science.  These printers are terrible!

 

As for the lock, you never answered the question being posed.

HP Recommended

Mine keeps printing my labels on ordinary paper from Tray 2 even though I select Tray 1. Annoying and wasteful. I tried printing Tray 1 Manual, same deal, wasted another 12 sheets of high quality paper. The least HP could do is put a STOP button on the damned thing so it doesn't keep eating my paper.
