After using the ink program for a year, we found we weren't printing enough to make it worthwhile.  Upon discontinuing the program, we are prevented from using the rest of our ink in the printer.  We have a couple of unopened ink boxes from HP sent to us on startup of the program we have not yet tried.  Is there a way to use up our current ink before having to purchae new ink?

Logically I would say not since you never bought the ink - you bought the right to use a certain amount of ink per month.  Would be a pretty lousy business model for HP if you could get a cartridge which is double the size of an XL cartridge for a nominal cost, cancel the program and get to use the ink!

Considering we pumped $79 over the course of a year utilizing the program and still are on our original supply of ink, which came with the printer purchase, your business model opinion doesn't apply.  I am looking for a technical solution to avoid wasting the ink we have.  Anyone else care to weigh in with an actual solution?

Hello?.....Carly?.....is that you?

As mentioned before you did not buy the ink, you paid for a certain number of pages per month.

You cannot print with any Instant Ink cartridges in the printer unless you have sn active Instant Ink subscription.

There are various levels of subscriptions, perhaps a more minimal subsvription would better meet your needs.

Well - since you're clearly looking for a way to hack into the system to use ink you're not entitled to use you may be better off asking this on a forum which isn't run by the company you're trying to cheat.  LOL

You paid for a certain number of pages per month whether you use them or not.  That's not my business model opinion - that's the way the program works.  Once you quit the program you have to go back to using normal cartriges that you purchase.

This was not made clear to me at sign up.  Aside from the instant ink program, there are many other deceptive things hp prnters have been pre programmed to do that force my to use up more ink.  These tactics should be illegal.

I agree. What an actual ripoff the program has turned out to be since I have paid for pages that were never printed and when I tried to cancel, it rendered my entire ink cartridges unusable though still full.

you can get a normal hp cartarage and switch the sponge with the high capacity sponge and ink , works fine.
