Hi, I've got the same problem, but with an HP Envy Photo 7830, which of course is out of its one-year warranty. I'm hopeful that the problem is the cartridge and not the printer though, but directly phoning HP support doesn't seem to be an option 😞
I'm getting a "remove and reinstall the indicated cartridge" error for my colour cartridge (it was printing green and brown bands, so I was trying to clean the print heads). I've taken it out and replaced it multiple times, cleaned the contacts with a lint-free cloth, and turned the printer off and on again. Sometimes after a power cycle, it's OK for a few pages, but then the error comes back. And, of course, since I'm on InstantInk, the one I have isn't empty yet so it hasn't sent out another spare one that I can try. It would be nice if the printer could detect cartridge errors automatically as well as detecting pages printed and low ink levels...

Have you checked you HP Instant Ink account page? Your Instant Ink account page will have notifications if there are any issues with the account or recent cartridge shipment, it will even provide solutions on how to fix the issue. You may log in to your HP Instant Ink account page from here.
