Having the same issue with my OfficeJet Pro 8216. All new genuine HP cartridges, good quality paper, all settings correct...still printing light blues as gray and dark blues as purple (just started within the past few weeks). Have gone thru all cleaning steps outlined in your reply below, as well as removing & cleaning the print head...still no improvement. I'm grateful for any help....

@USNavyVet, Welcome to HP Support Community!
I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).
If you are unfamiliar with how the Forum's private message capability works, you can learn about that here.

Does this happen while copying too?
Let's align the Printer:
-
From the home screen on the printer control panel, use the arrow buttons to select Setup, and then press OK.
-
Press the down arrow
to select Tools, and then press OK.
-
Press the down arrow
to select Align Printer, and then press OK.
An alignment page prints.
If the issue persists, please perform the remaining steps from this document: https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-officejet-pro-8210-printer-series/7902063/model/10935361/doc...

Thanks for the tips. I have done ALL of the items you referenced. Repeated diagnostic prints all show streaks in all colors but black. I removed & cleaned print head--still streaking. Anything printed blue appears purple because red shows thru the inconsistent (streaked) blue. I'm convinced that the print head is failing...and of course the printer is just a few weeks out of warranty! Fantastic printer but I sure expected it to last more than a year and a few weeks....

Well, I contacted the HP Support Team and received an email response on 1/8/20 with a case number...but no further contact since then. When I go on the HP Support site and enter the case number, it tells me the case number doesn't exist. Apparently I've been flushed....
