Hi @Lynn713,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
We understand that your printer jams on the left side when printing the second page of consecutive prints. This issue is often related to paper feeding or hardware alignment.
1. Check and Adjust Paper Tray Guides
- Open the paper tray and ensure the side and front guides are snug against the paper stack.
- Misaligned guides can cause the second sheet to skew and jam on one side.
2. Use Supported Paper Type
- Use only HP-recommended paper (typically 75–90 gsm for standard printing).
- Avoid glossy, curled, or damp paper.
- Do not mix paper types or sizes in the tray.
3. Clean the Paper Feed Rollers
- Dust and paper fibers on rollers can cause misfeeds:
- Power off the printer and unplug it.
- Open the rear access door or duplexer.
- Use a lint-free cloth lightly moistened with distilled water to clean the rollers.
- Let them dry completely before closing the printer.
4. Check for Obstructions
- Open all access doors and inspect the left side of the paper path.
- Remove any small scraps of paper or labels that may be stuck.
5. Update Firmware
- Visit HP Software & Drivers and enter your printer model.
- Download and install the latest firmware to ensure optimal paper handling logic.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
