Hello,
I have the same problem and I bought oem HP cartridge and it didn't help. I have followed the hard-reset instructions twice. Still not working. The problem is still there. Can you help further please? Thanks a lot!

@jpds I appreciate the details, here's all you need to know and do:
Step 1: Verify the cartridge numbers
Make sure the cartridge numbers match your printer and where the country/region the printer was purchased.
Go to HP Store and verify the cartridge numbers for your printer model and country/region. Replace any incompatible cartridges.
Step 2: Reset the printer
Reset the printer to recover from printer failures.

With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the printer.
-
Unplug the power cord from the power source.

Wait 60 seconds.
-
Reconnect the power cord to a wall outlet and to the printer.
NOTE:
HP recommends plugging the printer directly into a wall outlet.

Hello,
Thanks for the info. I've followed all those instructions and the cartridge was working for a few months until suddenly stopped working. Then I bought a new set of HP OEM cartridges from Costco. The same 64XL, it did not solve the problem. The tri-color cartridge that comes with the bundle works fine.
The printer is barely over 1 year (bought it early April 2019 from Costco). Is there some kind of warranty I can claim?

@jpds I suggest you talk to HP support and discuss your options, follow the below steps to get started:
1) Click on this link - http://www.hp.com/contacthp/
2) Click on Sign-in or select the product using the below step:
3) Enter the serial of your device.
4) Select the country from the drop-down.
5) Click on "Show Options".
Fill the web-form, to populate a case number and phone number for yourself!
