I've had this printer for a year or so and am trying to subscribe to the Instant Ink Service.

I get to the section (3) where a code is supposed to print, but nothing prints, and around and around it goes.

As a work around I try to add my printer via https://www.hpconnected.com/ but, again some code generated by the Printer is needed but it's not the xxxx@hpeprint.com code (the xxxx part).

To make it more complicated, I live in France but my French is not so good and HP French Customer support is in French only with no english language support.

Am totally lost on this and, much as I like this printer, if I don't get the Instant Ink subscription going, I'm going to replace this printer.

Welcome to HP Forums. This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips.

I understand that you are trying to enroll for Instant Ink but you are not getting the Claim Code to add your Printer to HP connected.

I'll try my best to help.

I suggest you restart your Router and perform a Printer Reset.

(1) Turn the printer on, if it is not already on.
(2) Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
(3) With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
(4) Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
(5) Wait at least 60 seconds.
(6) Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
NOTE: HP recommends connecting the printer power cord directly to the wall outlet.
(7) Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
(8) Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.

The printer might go through a warm-up period. The printer lights might flash, and the carriage might move.
Wait until the warm-up period finishes and your printer is idle and silent before you proceed.

Next, update the Printer Firmware from this Link: https://hp.care/2EnpNdE

Then assign a Manual IP Address for the Printer

- Print a Network Config Page from the printer. Note the printer's IP address. Press the Wireless button and the Information button at the same time
- Type that IP address into a browser to reveal the printer's internal settings.
- Choose the Networking tab, then Wireless along the left side, then the IPv4 tab.
- On this screen you want to set a Manual IP. You need to set an IP address outside the range that the router automatically sets (called the DHCP range). If you do not know the range, change the last set of numbers (those after the last '.') to 250
- Use 255.255.255.0 for the subnet (unless you know it is different, if so, use that)
- Enter your router's IP (on the Network Config Page) for the gateway.
- Enter 8.8.8.8 for the first DNS and 8.8.4.4 for the second DNS. This is Google DNS. You can choose another external DNS if you wish.
- Click 'Apply'.

- Wait for the Printer to settle and Print the Claim Code

- Press the Web Services  and the Information buttons  at the same time to print a Web Services information sheet that has instructions to get the claim code

Extensive and excellent solution offered.

My problem is sorted and I've been able to subscribe to Instant Ink.

Compared to companies like Apple and Adobe where Agen support is offloaded to the customers, HP is did well here. Great printer, great software, great service.

Thanks
