HP Deskjet 5230
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

HP Deskjet 5200 shutdown procedure stops in a loop of errors and when I start the proposed "shutdown" via the touchscreen, the display shown a running "shutdown", but never ends.

I removed the power for 10 seconds and 5 minutes, but the display restarts with error " the systems has been wrongly /errorously shutdown", ... and the loops begin again.

Is there anyone out there, who knows a solution ?

Hi Jay_G24,

thanks a lot for your support. Unfortunately I have to inform you, that your recommendations are exactly what I have done several times ( with little variations ), but with no result.

The problem actually is, that the printer does not initialize completely and runs into a loop of 2 error messages, saying that the printer had not been correctly shut down.

After concacting the HP-support here for 20 Euros, and they could not find a solution, I finnaly accept that the printer is simply broken and I will buy a new one.

Thanks and keep care.

Heinrich

Hi @Heinrich_-1,

I'd like to help with the printer issue.

Reset the product

  • With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  • Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  • Wait at least 60 seconds.
  • Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
  • Reconnect the power cord to the printer.
  • Turn the printer on. HP recommends plugging the printer directly into a wall outlet.

Also, try updating the printer's firmware - HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
