SmartWeb Printing
Microsoft Windows 7 (32-bit)

I have a HP desktop and had printer drivers and the HP store promo apps on it.  I tried removing the OfficeJet 6500 drivers and the added stuff, and, a HP Deskjet2600.  I tried this through add remove programs.  The problem I have now, any time I enter the control panel, my system tries to install Smart Web Pringing, and its missing some files and stops.  It comes back everytime and the Smart Web Printing is not in my list of programs in the comtrol panel.  It seems to want to add it.  I went to IE and disabled all the add-ons, still having the same issue,  I'm just trying to clear the old drives and misc stuff to add a new printer.  Any iders why this Smart Web Services is trying to insdtall everytime I enter the control panel?
Thanks in advance.

As I understand you are having issues with Smart web printing trying to install on every boot when trying to enter control panel on your HP PC.

Don't worry, though, as I have a few recommendations:

You could use a program like Revo Uninstaller to try and uninstall it. It does a much better job of cleaning up when compared to the Windows uninstaller.

This, option does not work because the program of Smart Web Printing does not even show up on the Revo Uninstaller program... It fails to pick up the residue or leftover registry of the smart web printing. Every time I try to go to control panel or to any folder the program tries to install inself and does not find the software or/and program to install therefore causing a blockade or stuck window which is extremely frustrating.

The HP help desk has been able to diagnose it is when I had the OfficeJet 5600 / 5610 installed on my PC. Ever since I gave the printer to my Mother-In-Law and removed the driver using the new uninstall method from HP.

HP fails to remove all the residue or registry or software of the failed smart web printing... Therefore even the technician that logged on to my PC and discovered the issue told me that installing the new driver from HP for the HP OfficeJet 5600/5610 as he did; unfortunately did nothing to resolve my problem because the driver supplied by HP NO LONGER has the Smart Web Printer download or option to add on it therefore the full installation and / or unistallation is unavilable... PLEASE HELP... This is so irritating and I know I'm not the only one with this problem...

Luis - HP Support Staff has told me to wipe my entire PC cleran and start a new. It is so extreme that it is like getting rid of a car that the electric locks or right turn signal doesn't work. IT"S RIDICULOUS... I'm sure there is a fix but I really need guidance here...

@mikeyman66, Welcome to HP Support Community!

I recommend you delete the driver and root level and retry, follow the steps below:

1) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features

2) Select your HP Printer

3) Select Uninstall

4) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers

5) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose ‘Delete’ or ‘Remove Device’

6) Open up the run command with the “Windows key + R” key combo.

7) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe”

😎 Click on the “Drivers” tab

9) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom

10) Select Ok

11) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows

12) Close Devices and Printers.

Now, download and install the full-featured software from here.

If the issue persists, run sfc scan to check if there are any issues with the windows files. Here is how you do it-

  • Make sure you've installed the latest updates for Windows 10, and then restart your machine. To find out more, read Update Windows 10.
  • In the search box on the taskbar, type Command Prompt, and right-click or press and hold Command Prompt (Desktop app) from the list of results. Select Run as administrator, and then select Yes.
  • Type DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth (note the space before each "/"), and then press Enter. (Note: This step may take a few minutes to start and up to 30 minutes to complete.)
  • After you see a message that says "The operation completed successfully," type sfc /scannow (note the space between "sfc" and "/") and press Enter.
  • After you see a message that says, "Verification 100% complete," type exit.

If you still have issues, create a new user account on your PC and try installing the printer.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
