Solved: "The Tray is Open" Problem (Broken Tab)

HP Recommended
HP Envy 6022
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Just like this issue:

Solved: Tray Open - A paper tray is open. Close the tray to continue... - HP Support Community - 7461486

Below is photo of the repair. I used superglue + epoxy - the superglue holds it in position, while the epoxy sets.

I think that this is actually a design fault as I noticed that opening and closing the paper tray was difficult and sort of clicked when doing so. Because of this difficulty you then get used to pushing it harder than you should and so, when there is an actual obstruction you push past this and it gets broken.

The fault is that when the printer is placed on a soft surface, e.g. a carpeted floor or chair seat, this pushes up slightly in the middle of the paper tray and this causes plastic parts to catch inside, when sliding the paper tray in or out. You can see it does this easily by just pressing upwards a little on the centre of the paper tray when doing this.
