Sorry to say this did not solve the problem.

I carefully followed your instructions and still have the same problem.

cannot find 7zS6625\setup\hpzpnp40.exe... (I cannot read the rest of the message)

Do you have any further suggestions, short of killing my machine and becoming a hermit?

I really do appreciate your efforts and hope you can advise me of another possible solution.

I did some research since the scrubber did not work. What I came up with was this:

I am not sure how computer savvy you are, but the information given looks right.

Well, I did the best I could.  I guess I spent about 2 hours trying the solution.  I can find files, copy them and so forth, but, in some of the instructions were too vague to me and I wasn't certain I was doing what was suggested.  Bottom line - failure.

I'm not one to give up easily but I'm not sure where I should go to fix this problem.  Maybe this problem is beyond my ability to fix.  It just doesn't seem right that HP can't figure out how to fix this problem for me, since it' shows up on the forum more than once.  Maybe it's a problem with my computer.  who knows.

So...I ask you.  What do you suggest?

Don't give up hope! Let's take it step by step, did you find the Temp folder with the 7zS folders in it?

Yes, I have located the temp folder with the 7zSxxxx files.

c:\owner\appdata\local\temp

HP Recommended

Ok, how many are in there?

there are 12 folders including the last one that I renamed. 7zs6625.  All start with 7zSXXXX.  Found in c:\owner\AppData\local\temp

Go ahead and delete all the other 7zS and run the Setup application in the folder you renamed to 7zS6625.

If you get an error looking for another 7zSXXXX folder, just copy that existing 7zS6625 folder, paste it elsewhere and rename it to whatever 7zSXXXX it was asking for. Move that renamed folder back into the temp directory and run the Setup Application from the 7zS6625 folder.

Inside the 7zS6625 folder there is a folder named Setup.  Inside the Setup folder there are many .exe files, but none named setup.exe.  What is the name of the file I should use to start the setup?

HP Recommended

It should be in the root of the 7z folder and it should be an HP icon.
