Colleagues, I have two printers with blinking Attention, Power, Paper, and Consumable lights. This situation is permanent and does not allow the printer to be used, which is new. I have also noticed that in this state it loses any type of communication, USB, WIFI, LAN. What do you suggest to solve this?

thanks in advance,

Hi @gatell2002,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

We understand how concerning it is to see blinking Attention, Power, Paper, and Consumable lights on your HP LaserJet Pro 3002dw printers, especially when they are new and completely lose communication via USB, Wi-Fi, and LAN.

Steps to Resolve the Issue

1. Perform a Full Power Reset

  • Turn off the printer.
  • Disconnect the power cord from both the printer and the wall outlet.
  • Wait 60 seconds.
  • Reconnect the power cord directly to a wall outlet (avoid surge protectors).
  • Turn the printer back on.

2. Check for Paper or Cartridge Issues

  • Open the cartridge access door and ensure the toner is properly seated.
  • Check the input tray for paper jams or misfeeds.
  • Make sure the paper guides are correctly aligned.

3. Restore Factory Defaults

If the printer powers on but remains in an error state:

  • Press and hold the Cancel and Information buttons simultaneously for 5–10 seconds.
  • This may trigger a factory reset or diagnostic mode.

4. Update Firmware via USB

If the printer is detected briefly via USB:

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!

Hi VikramTheGreat,

The solution required resetting the printer and updating the firmware. It's truly an issue that leaves you with no obvious repair options like previous models.

I'm very grateful for your response; it was spot on! Thank you!

See you!!
