Hi @CO1052,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be glad to help you!

If your HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus e-All-in-One Printer (N911g) is connected to Wi-Fi but the blue light is not on, it typically indicates a problem with the wireless connection indicator, even though the printer might still be connected to the network.

Make sure, your printer and your device are on the same network as 2.4GHZ only.

Here are some steps you can follow to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue:

1. Restart the Printer and Router:

  • Power Cycle Printer: Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for about 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.
  • Restart Router: Restart your router to refresh the network connection.

2. Check Wi-Fi Status on Printer:

  • Printer Control Panel: On the printer's control panel, navigate to Setup > Network > Wireless Status to confirm the printer is connected to the correct Wi-Fi network.

3. Reconnect to Wi-Fi Network:

  • Run Wireless Setup Wizard: On the printer, go to Setup > Network > Wireless Setup Wizard and reconnect to your Wi-Fi network. This step can help refresh the connection settings.

4. Check Wireless Indicator Settings:

  • Indicator Light: Verify if there is a setting that controls the wireless indicator light within the printer’s settings. Some printer models allow disabling the indicator light manually.

5. Check Printer Firmware:

  • Update Firmware: Ensure that your printer’s firmware is up to date. Go to the HP Support website to check for and install any available firmware updates. The updated firmware can resolve connectivity and indicator issues.

Please find the remaining steps in the next post.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance

Hi @CO1052 ,

Please find the remaining steps below.

6. Reset Network Settings:

  • Restore Network Defaults: On the printer’s control panel, go to Setup > Network > Restore Network Defaults, then reconnect to the Wi-Fi network using the Wireless Setup Wizard.

7. Confirm Network Connection:

  • Print Network Configuration Page: You can print a Network Configuration Page from the printer's control panel under Setup > Reports > Network Configuration Page. This page will show if the printer is connected to the network and any relevant connection details.

8. Check Wireless Light Functionality:

  • Hardware Check: If the blue light still does not turn on but the printer is working fine, it could be a hardware issue with the LED indicator itself. This is generally not critical if all other functions are working correctly.

9. Reboot All Devices:

  • Reboot All Devices: Reboot your printer, computer, and router together to ensure all devices synchronize properly with the network.

10. Check Router Settings:

  • Wireless Channel and Band: Ensure your router is set to a supported wireless band (2.4 GHz is most commonly compatible with printers). Also, check if any router settings might be limiting or blocking device connectivity.

If the printer functions normally and the only issue is the blue light not being illuminated, it may simply be a non-critical hardware failure of the indicator light itself. If the problem persists and it impacts printer operation, consider contacting HP Phone Support for further assistance.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
