There is no option to select double sided printing, any ideas how to fix this ?

I have a HP Envy printer and have no problem with double sided printing selection.

Could it be a software problem, everything was downloaded from HP

Hi @LIB244,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP OfficeJet Pro 9120e All-In-One Printer does not show the option for double-sided printing, it could be due to several reasons including driver issues, software settings, or printer settings. Here are steps to troubleshoot and potentially fix this issue.

Check Printer Settings

Ensure that the duplex printing feature is enabled in the printer settings:

  1. Go to the Control Panel on your computer.
  2. Click on Devices and Printers.
  3. Find your HP OfficeJet Pro 9120e, right-click on it, and select Printer Properties.
  4. Look for a tab or option related to Device Settings or Printer Preferences.
  5. Ensure that Duplex Unit or Automatic Two-Sided Printing is enabled.

Update or Reinstall Printer Drivers

Sometimes, outdated or corrupted drivers can cause issues with printer functionality:

  1. Visit the HP Support Website.
  2. Search for your printer model: HP OfficeJet Pro 9120e.
  3. Download the latest drivers and software for your printer.
  4. Install the downloaded drivers and restart your computer.

Check Print Preferences in Software

When printing a document:

  1. Open the document you want to print.
  2. Go to the print dialog (usually File > Print or pressing Ctrl + P).
  3. In the print settings window, look for an option to enable double-sided printing (might be under Printer Properties, Preferences, or Advanced settings).
  4. Ensure that the option for double-sided printing is selected.

Firmware Update

Ensure your printer’s firmware is up to date:

  1. Go to the HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads.
  2. Enter your printer model (HP OfficeJet Pro 9120e) and download the latest firmware.
  3. Follow the instructions to update the firmware.

Reset the Printer

Performing a factory reset can sometimes resolve configuration issues:

  1. On the printer’s control panel, go to Setup or Settings.
  2. Navigate to Printer Maintenance or Restore.
  3. Select Restore Factory Defaults or Reset All Settings.

Check Application Settings

Certain applications have their own print settings that might override system settings:

  1. In the application you are using to print (Word, Adobe Reader, etc.), check the print settings.
  2. Ensure that double-sided printing is selected within the application’s print dialog.

By following these steps, you should be able to enable and use the double-sided printing feature on your HP OfficeJet Pro 9120e All-In-One Printer.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
