I have fresh ink, and only recently have started getting horizontal and missing lines on prints.
Went to use the online tools, and if I try to Clean cartridges, print a test page, etc , I just get error "the cleaning process failed" I've also removed ink cartridges, and tried manually cleaning printer heads.
The diagnostic tool is FINDING my printer, so unsure why it won't do the final connect to clean , allign, etc like it used to. I used to be on Win7...Recently switched to Win10..Unsure if that has anything to do with it yet

Hi @NayWorks2much,
Welcome to the HP Support Forum!
Have you tried cleaning the ink cartridges from the printer control? Go to Black Ink Not Printing and Other Print Quality Issues > Step 3 for detailed steps.
Let me know if that helps!

Looks like the print heads successfully cleaned via the local control panel. But back to the original question...What's the point of having a software tool to manage the printer if it generates useless error message like" the cleaning process failed?"
Doesn't HP test the software before it's released? Is there no QA department? Or is that the job of the customers?

I just had the same issue. Followed the instructions and did it locally on the printer. But you're absolutely right - they did not bother to address the fact that NONE of the Maintain Your Printer tools work. Every single tool throws out a Failed message. That is very poor software, I'd say.
