HP LaserJet M211dw Printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Dear Support Team,
I am experiencing an issue with my HP LaserJet M211dw printer, which is stuck in recovery mode — the printer continuously blinks an amber light and cannot boot normally. I have attempted all known button combinations and software tools to reset it, but without success.
To perform a firmware recovery, I urgently need the original .RFU firmware file for the HP LaserJet M211dw model (version 20250324 or the latest available). Unfortunately, I have been unable to locate this file on the official website or other sources.
Please assist me in obtaining the original .RFU firmware file or provide instructions on how to recover the firmware and reset the printer.
Thank you in advance for your support.
Best regards,
Milan Dragojlovic

You will not find RFU file for that printer model because RFU is used in more advanced printers.

If you download .exe firmware from HP.com and exctract the .exe file with 7zip you can get to actual firmware file (named 1013)  located inside .exe    -> M207-M212_Series_FW_Update-20250324\.rsrc\FILE\1013

Is the printer still connected on a network? The 1013 file is the close as RFU file you need to send it to a printer over network.

Hvala unapred.

Wireless setup mode can be used when switching from wireless networks.

After the printer is in wireless setup mode within 2 hours you can use your smartphone to add it to a new network.

The blinking amber is an general error. The printer has wired network if you connect it with cable to wired network is the wired network connection established?

Dear HP Printer Support,

I am experiencing an issue with my HP LaserJet M211dw printer. It was previously working perfectly on one network, but I needed to switch it to a different (wireless) network. Since then, I've encountered a problem – I cannot factory reset it.

When I power it on, the printer continuously attempts to connect to the old network. Since it cannot find it, an amber light illuminates on the front panel, and at that point, I can only turn it off. I've tried all possible button combinations without success. The HP Smart app doesn't detect it, so I can't reset it through the application either. I even tried updating the firmware with the latest version from the HP website, but that didn't resolve the issue.

What should I do?

Here's the message with the added details about the printer's connectivity issues:

"The printer can't connect to the network via cable. It also doesn't communicate via USB. When connected via USB and something is sent to the printer, I get a 'two-way communication cannot be established' error. I assume this is because it's already connected to the old wireless network."
