HP OfficeJet Pro 9018 All-in-One Printer

I received an used printer. When I turn it on to connect it to the wifi, it tells me that I need to register to the ink program. But the problem is that I can't even connect to the wifi because it goes straight to printing alignment page. Then, it gets stuck there. Please I need help resetting it. I unplugged it for 60 seconds and nothing is working

Hi @Mdura7,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you're facing issues with your HP OfficeJet Pro 9018 All-In-One Printer and it's not allowing you to connect to Wi-Fi or complete the setup due to the ink program registration prompt, you may want to try a few troubleshooting steps. Here's a step-by-step guide.

Power Cycle:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Wait for at least 60 seconds.
  • Plug the printer back in and turn it on.

Reset Network Settings:

  • On the printer's control panel, touch the Wireless icon or open the Network Settings.
  • Look for an option to reset the network settings or reconfigure the wireless setup.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to reset the network settings.

Factory Reset:

  • If the issue persists, you might need to perform a factory reset.
  • Press and hold the Wireless and Cancel buttons simultaneously for about 5 seconds until the Power light blinks.
  • Release the buttons, and the printer should reset to its factory settings.

Reconfigure Wi-Fi:

  • After the factory reset, go through the initial setup process again.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to connect the printer to your Wi-Fi network.

Bypass Alignment Page:

  • If the printer gets stuck at the alignment page, you may try skipping or canceling the alignment process.
  • On the printer's control panel, find an option to skip or cancel the alignment.
  • Once skipped, check if you can proceed with the setup.

Update Firmware:

  • Ensure that your printer has the latest firmware installed. You can check for firmware updates on the HP support website and follow the instructions to update if needed.

Remember that performing a factory reset will erase any custom settings you've configured on the printer.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
