Unable to run scan because it doesn't detect any printer - the same like HP utilities.
But when I check Preferences - Print & Fax - the printer is showing there.
I have reinstalled the printer again and still the same results. Detectable by Print & Fax but not HP utilities and scanner.
I appreciate your intention to help me

Oh, sorry about that utility. There is definately something in the way, here. I don't think the Mac firewall is in the way (Apple menu > System Prefs > Security), but you could try disabling it for testing.
I think your router is the problem. You have restarted it by pulling its power plug, right?

I have my router connect to a power panel with three other devices plugged in and operated by one secure switch to cut off from electricity. When I travel I always switch off all of them by using this one switch. I have been recently away for over a month and since I got back few days ago this problem has appeared. Is this the reason? If so, what I need to do? Thanks

Oh, there is a good clue. Is the modem on the same circuit? Do you have cable service? Does your modem also have a phone service?
What we should do is pull the power cord from the modem and router. If the modem also has your phone service, you will have to hit the reset button (recessed) on the back to reset it. Wait for the modem to start up, then start the router by plugging in its power cord.

Hi,
I want to offer some follow up on this issue I have had with my printer. So indeed, your clue re router has been valuable. I ended up with reconfiguring my internet connection, had to reset default settings first and then reconnect internet from the scratch to bring router back to its correct configuration.
Then I had to reset my printer wifi connection to default settings too to completely cancel its settings on the embedded server and then reset again. Next I run the test (printing and scanning) of the printer to check weather the device works correctly so I at connected first only on the printer's wifi itself without connecting yet to my original wifi line. My computer begun to see the printer's own wifi then. The device worked fine and communication between laptop and the printer was also possible, so then I had to reinstall the printer again as it would be the first installation on DHCP first. Once I was able to get in to the embedded server of the printer using newly assign printer's URL, then I set static IP outside of my router range. The laptop begun to work with the printer and seeing Bonjour communication once again. This was it, all works.
The problem was the earlier manual settings of static IP which was not done incorrectly and this caused the major issue that I was not able to connect back to the printer's URL at the first place to resetup its settings because the printer's IP and primary DNS server had different values of IP addresses, and this was blocking me from accessing printer's URL which also resulted in miscommunication between my Mac and the printer. After reconfiguring all three: router, printer and reinstalling once again on my laptop the problem was solved. It took me quite a while to reestablish proper functioning of the printer and I also had to ask for help local HP customer service over the phone with resetting it to the factory original settings and running the wifi test based on printer's own wifi signal.
Even though you and I didn't solve the issue entirely but your clue about the router to start with was a key here.
I wanted to thank you very much for your great attitude with me on this very long post and intention to help which I appreciate very much. Kudos to you for being such a great person!
