When the printer goes into sleep mode I can't print. I have HP 2722 and I have it connected to my computer via USB cable since my computer is not wireless. I have already followed the instructions of disconnecting and rebooting computer and reconnecting the printer. I can't be doing this every time I want to print. This is the first HP printer I have had a problem with. It's very discouraging. What do I do to fix this and how do I do it?

Hi @Mi_mi13,
I'd like to help with the printer connectivity issue.
Use HP Print and Scan Doctor to check connectivity
Download a special version of HP Print and Scan Doctor specifically created to help with printer offline conditions.
- Download HP Print and Scan Doctor.
- Run HPPSdr.exe from the download location on your computer.
- Once HP Print and Scan Doctor opens, click Start, and then select your printer.
- If your printer in not in the list, turn it off and on, and then click Retry.
- If there is a connection problem, follow the instructions in HP Print and Scan Doctor.
- If a screen prompts you to turn on printer updates, click Yes.
- If a screen prompts you to make your printer the default printer, click Yes.
Try connecting the USB Cable to a different port.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

I need it to stop powering off. I bought this printer because it is wireless. The fact that if I go in to advanced settings it shows that it was a few options (all similar) for sleep and is set to auto power off in 2 hours, BUT REFUSES TO LET ME CHANGE IT, is downright ridiculous. Why even put it there and then tell me I'm not allowed to change it. You advertise being able to put the printer somewhere other than next to the PC being as it is wireless. Well, what's the point if I need to walk over to it EVERY time I want to print something? You don't advertise it prints then turns itself off and there is no way to stop it. This is a simple issue to fix. Unlock that setting with a firmware update. Other than that, I have no gripes about this printer. It's obvious that it's not going to last as long as the PSC2110 it's replacing, and the box is very misleading about free/50% off ink, but it's a nice machine for the price. Just let me decide if I want to waste the 1 watt (1/4 of a nightlight) to keep it turned on or not. Leaving the default where it is would be ok, but give me options.

I called customer support and they reinstalled the driver which was not installed correctly. I had another problem after I did a Windows 10 update and that update screwed up the printer. I called customer support and it took 45-60 minutes for them to correct the problem. I just did another Windows 10 update and tried to print and I had to unplug and wait about 1 min then plug it back in and then it worked. So far so good. Since the first phone call it prints even when it goes to sleep it wakes up and prints - just understand it takes a bit to wake up and print. I haven't timed it but it takes several seconds. Hope this helps. I would call if I were you and you can't fix it.
