HP Photosmart C4680 printer
Chrome OS

I bought a new Chromebook and connected it to my HP Photosmart C4680 printer.  It was printing fine the other day, but now it prints 1/4 of the page and stops.  The printer power button keeps blinking on and off and won't shut down as well. What is the solution?   Thank you!!

Welcome to the HP support community.

Did you make a copy and check if that prints fine?

Are you getting any error messages while printing?

All the printer does is print a cover page and then prints 1/4 of the page and stops, then the light begins to blink and nothing happens.  I am printing from a Samsung Chromebook 15.5.  I hope that helps.

Remove and add the printer to the Chromebook

  1. On the Chromebook, click the clock in the bottom right corner, and then click the Settings icon .

  2. Scroll to the bottom of the screen and click Advanced.

  3. Scroll to the Printing section, click Printers, and then click Add Printer.

    • If your printer displays, click it, and then click Add.

    • If your printer does not display, click Add Manually, and then follow the instructions to add the printer. Go to Chromebook Help - Set up your printer (in English) for more information.

Let me know how it goes.

I've tried that several times and it prints a cover page, which I do NOT want.  But the main problem is that after it prints a cover page, my print job starts printing and stops at 1/4 of the page.  I have disconnected the cords, deleted the printer, and then added them back in.  Still doing the same thing.  There must be somewhere when I click on the printer button to fix these issues.

This might require one on one interaction to fix the issue.

I request you to talk to HP support.

They might have multiple options to help you with this.

  1. Click on this link - https://support.hp.com/us-en/contact-hp?openCLC=true
  2. Select the country.
  3. Enter the serial of your device.
  4. Select the country from the drop-down.
  5. Click on "Show Options".
  6. Fill the web-form. A case number and phone number will now populate for you.

Cheers.

I can't find the Web Form.  Where is it?  Under Support or contact official HP Support?

I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).

If you are unfamiliar with how the Community's private message capability works, you can learn about that here.
