Hi All, just purchaed a HP Officejet Pro 6960. I have been having printing wireless. I have been through all the HP trouble shooting over the past 2 days. I am connected to the same wireless router as the printer. Works well with USB connected, but that's just not the way I work. Have uninstalled drivers and HP releated software, performed a reg clean and re-installed. I am using a MS Surface (brand new version), my wife is using an HP Elitebook X360 also brand new and that won't work either. Previously had an Epson that was like plug and play 🙂 just the printer was a nighmare. This really should not that dificult, so either the product is not working, the drivers are bad,( have dowloaded from HP site as well as links provided with installation instructions) or something is weird. Wireless connection could not be stroger, the printer is next to the router and I'm sitting in the next room with an excellent conection. Also tried the option to connect to the printer wiithout needing the wireless router, that failed miserably too.
Thanks and hope someone out there can help me.
Cheers

Hi @MartinLeibo ,
Thank you for posting on HP Forums,
The Barachiel is at your service.
I understand you are in need of support,
I'll be glad to help you out, however, for an accurate solution I will need more details:
How long are you facing this issue?
When was the last time it worked without these issues?
In the meantime, please try the steps mentioned below:
First, let's set a static IP address for the printer:
- Print a Network Config Page from the front of the printer. Note the printer's IP address.
- Type that IP address into a browser to reveal the printer's internal settings.
- Choose the Networking tab, then Wireless along the left side, then the IPv4 tab.
- On this screen you want to set a Manual IP. You need to set an IP address outside the range that the router automatically sets (called the DHCP range). If you do not know the range, change the last set of numbers (those after the last '.') to 250
- Use 255.255.255.0 for the subnet (unless you know it is different, if so, use that)
- Enter your router's IP (on the Network Config Page) for the gateway.
- Enter 8.8.8.8 for the first DNS and 8.8.4.4 for the second DNS. This is Google DNS. You can choose another external DNS if you wish.
- Click 'Apply'.
Now, shut down the router and printer, start the router, wait, then start the printer.
Once it is done, I recommend you delete the driver and root level and retry, follow the steps below:
In Windows, search for and open Programs and features
2.) Select your HP Printer
3.) Select Uninstall
4.) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers
5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose ‘Delete’ or ‘Remove Device’
6.) Open up the run command with the “Windows key + R” key combo.
7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”)
8.) Click on the “Drivers” tab
9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom
10.) Select Ok
11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows
12.) Close Devices and Printers
Follow this link and install the full feature driver software.
Keep me posted. 😉

Turned off IPv6 on printer control panel. No difference. Have also tried Direct Connect wireless, printer no giving me a pin to enter into the direct connect wireless setting even though it is set to on. tried the password on the sheet I printed but that doesn't work. Getting a bit frustrated here this should be easy no?

Hi @MartinLeibo ,
If it's WiFi direct, try 12345678 This is the default password the printer set's. Let me know. 🙂
