Hi @HopeLine_JT83,

I understand your printer’s Wireless Setup Wizard isn’t showing your Wi-Fi network, sweetheart. Let’s go through a few steps to check what could be causing this.

Make sure the Wi-Fi is on 2.4 GHz
Most HP home printers only detect 2.4 GHz networks, not 5 GHz.
Check your router settings and ensure the 2.4 GHz band is enabled and broadcasting.

Move the printer closer to the router
If the signal is weak, the printer won’t display the network.
Try placing it in the same room as the router while setting it up.

Restart the printer and router
Turn off the printer for 30 seconds, then power it back on.
Restart the Wi-Fi router to refresh the wireless broadcast.

Check if the network name (SSID) is hidden
Hidden networks won’t appear in the wizard.
Make sure SSID Broadcast is enabled in your router settings.

Look for unusual characters in the Wi-Fi name
HP printers sometimes fail to detect SSIDs containing emojis or special characters.
Use letters and numbers only for the setup.

Verify Wi-Fi channel settings
The printer supports channels 1–11 on 2.4 GHz.
If the router is set to channel 12 or 13, the printer won’t see it—switch it to Auto or channel 1–11.

Temporarily turn off MAC filtering
If your router has MAC filtering on, the printer will be blocked from joining.
Disable it and try scanning again.

I hope this helps.

I figured out what is wrong! My printer is not set up for wireless based on my last letter fd(n)! Upon researching I think the n character is wireless not supported. Correct me if I’m wrong. Thanks for reaching out.
