Hi @KirstyxXx

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like your HP Envy Photo 7134 is having trouble picking up the 5x7 photo paper. There are a few things you can try to resolve this issue and ensure your printer grabs the photo paper properly:

1. Check the Paper Size and Settings:

  • Paper Tray: Make sure that the photo paper is placed in the main paper tray with the short edge aligned to the bottom (landscape orientation). Some printers may have trouble feeding paper if it’s placed incorrectly or if the tray isn’t adjusted to accommodate the smaller paper size.
  • Paper Type: Double-check the paper settings on your computer or printer software. Set the paper type to Photo Paper (not plain paper) in the print settings to ensure the printer knows it's handling special paper.

2. Adjust the Paper Guides:

  • The paper guides in the tray should be adjusted so that they are snug around the edges of the photo paper, but not too tight. If they are too tight, the paper won’t feed properly. The guides should fit the paper size you’re using (in this case, 5x7).
  • Avoid Overfilling the Tray: Ensure the paper stack is not too high in the tray, as this can cause the paper to not be picked up properly.

3. Load the Paper Correctly:

  • When loading the photo paper into the tray, make sure it’s facing the correct direction for printing. For most printers, the printable side of the photo paper should face down (or sometimes face up, depending on the printer). Check your printer's manual to confirm.

4. Clean the Paper Feed Rollers:

  • If the rollers that pick up the paper are dirty, they might not be able to grab the paper correctly. Use a lint-free cloth lightly dampened with water (or isopropyl alcohol, if necessary) to clean the rollers inside the paper tray.
  • Gently rotate the rollers by hand to clean them all the way around.

5. Check for Paper Jams or Obstructions:

  • Ensure there’s no paper jam or debris in the paper path or inside the printer that could be blocking the paper feed. Sometimes, small bits of paper can cause issues even if they aren’t obvious.

6. Try a Manual Feed (if available):

  • Some printers, including HP Envy models, have a manual feed option or a rear tray that you can use for photo paper. If your printer has this option, try loading the 5x7 photo paper into that tray instead of the main one.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
