My printer prints yellow as green (confirmed in diagnostic print). The cartridge (original) is almost full in all colors. I reset the printer to manufacturers settings. I read an advice to calibrate the printer. HP smart says issues with printing quality cannot be solved fot this type of printer in HP smart. I should do this with the software of the printer. I downloaded and installed full software and drivers. I have got no message that installation has been completed, nor can I find it. So, how can I get my printer to print yellow as yellow?

Yellow printing as green (even in the diagnostic page) would happen if there is color mixing between yellow and cyan in the cartridge.  This can happen if you have put tape back on the nozzles, or if the cartridges were refilled improperly, or in some cases if the printer and cartridges were subjected to extreme temperature extremes.

I would suggest trying the following:  print a full page of yellow.  If the mixing is just in the lower portion of the cartridge it may recover and start printing properly.  If the color is not improving down the page the color mixing may have gotten further up into the foam of the cartridge, in this case it will need to be replaced.

If the cartridge is an original HP (not a reman or refill) it will have a warranty, see the document here for information. To get warranty coverage you will need to go to the Contact HP page, then enter the information for your printerAt this point it will likely say "Manufacturer's warranty has expired"  To the right of this it will say "See details".  Click the "See details" link, which will open another page with more details.  Near the bottom of the text will be a paragraph that says :

HP has checked your product information, including the product and serial numbers, to determine your warranty results. The legal warranty expiration date is based on the date of purchase, as indicated on your receipt. If you feel these results are incorrect, you may submit a dispute for review. Dispute this >

Thank you, I am sure this is the case. I wonder how it could have happened. I will contact my supplier. But I am happy that it is the cartridge that causes the problem.

The cartridge is the issue, you can verify this by gently blotting the printhead on a damp tissue.  A good HP cartridge would have a strong blot of cyan, magenta and yellow.

If the cartridge is a third party product the most likely cause would be whatever was used to cover the nozzles in shipment.  Some providers put replacement tape on the cartridges, others use a clip that presses soft plastic against the nozzles.  Either of these methods can cause issues - it is a difficult process to get the nozzles clean and dry after filling the cartridge with ink.  If the tape is not properly stuck to the nozzles ink can "wick" under the tape between the ink chambers.  Yellow is most sensitive to contamination since it is a very light color.  Even a tiny bit of cyan mixing with yellow will make a green result.

Thank you for the additional information. The supplier will have to explain this. The cartridge was sold as new and original hp, not a refill. Unfortunately I have thrown the slip with qr code away when changing the cartridge.

If the cartridge is an original HP I would follow up with HP SUpport for a replacemant as described in my post above.  The dealer may replace the cartrdige, some will not without a receipt.

The dealer asked me to send the printers quality report. After they had seen it they mailed me that they will send another. So - thanks to you my problem is solved.
