For some reason I can no longer access the EWS on my 8630 printer when I use my IE browser (V11). Chrome - which I am fast getting dis-enchanted with - works ok but IE which used to work fine no longer connects. My browser returns a 501 code.
Anyone else?

From this latest experience and others prior to it, I have deduced that the HP 'support' forums are pretty feeble. The philosophy that users are the best source of help is utterly incorrect.
My printer works absolutely great. Yet it won't connect to my laptop when I ask it to do a scan to network folder. Even though it used to work just fine. Same laptop; same connection; perhaps a new router; no significant changes to the laptop software; yet it doesnt' work and nobody here seems to have a clue as to what to do other than to "reset my IE settings".

Hi @ginerjm,
Welcome to HP Forums, this is a great place to get support, find answers and tips.
Thank you for posting your query. I'll be more than glad to help you.
I understand that you are facing issues with accessing the EWS page of your printer from IE 11.
Let's go through a few steps that may help to fix this issue.
And here are a few steps in the link: Reset Internet Explorer
Also, I request you to change the homepage to google.com
Let me know if this works.
You have a good day ahead.

Sorry - Just saw this reply and don't think it is much help. I am not going to "reset' IE since I haven't made a change in it in years probably. So what's the point since this process worked a month or so ago?
I really hate answers in forum that suggest such basics just to see what happens. Ya know?

What is it that you are concerned about in my IE settings? Since (as I said) it has been setup for months if not years and HAS WORKED in the past, what is it that you are susupicious of?
BTW - my home page is set to google.com
