@hadiba, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The error code 0x6100004c typically indicates a carriage jam or internal hardware issue with your HP printer. Let’s walk through some steps to resolve this:
Power Reset the Printer
- With the printer turned on, unplug the power cord from the back of the printer.
- Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
- Wait for 60 seconds.
- Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet and then into the printer.
- Turn the printer back on.
This simple reset can often clear temporary hardware glitches.
Check for Paper or Carriage Jams
- Open the cartridge access door.
- Look inside for any jammed paper, foreign objects, or obstructions in the carriage path.
- Gently move the carriage (where the ink cartridges sit) from side to side to ensure it moves freely.
- Close the access door and try printing again.
Clean and Reseat Ink Cartridges
- Open the cartridge access door.
- Remove the ink cartridges.
- Gently clean the electrical contacts on the cartridges and inside the printer using a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with distilled water.
- Reinsert the cartridges and close the door.
Update Printer Firmware
- Make sure your printer has the latest firmware installed.
- Visit the HP Software and Driver Downloads page and enter your printer model to check for updates.
If the issue persists after trying all the above steps, it may indicate a hardware failure. In that case, we suggest you please visit the nearest HP authorized service center, the service team will check and assist you.
