It’s stuck on the blue screen of death. I’ve tried all the options to hard restarting and nothing works. One you unplug and plug it back in you have about 10 seconds to mess around before it goes straight to the blue screen. Error code “00829C98”. This printer has only been used once and it’s already messed up at a time when we really need it to print!!

Hi @JayBae1
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The error code "00829C98" on your HP printer indicates a hardware issue, often related to the printer's internal components or firmware. Here are some steps to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue:
1. Power Cycle the Printer
- Unplug the Printer: Disconnect the printer from the power source.
- Wait: Leave it unplugged for at least 5 minutes.
- Reconnect: Plug it back in and turn it on. Check if the error persists.
2. Check Connections
- Ensure all cables (power and USB, if applicable) are securely connected.
- Inspect for any signs of damage to the cables or ports.
3. Reset the Printer
- If your printer model has a reset option in the menu, try performing a factory reset. This can usually be found in the settings or maintenance section.
4. Inspect for Paper Jams or Foreign Objects
- Open the printer and check for any paper jams or foreign objects that might be causing a blockage.
5. Update Firmware
- If you can access the printer's menu, look for any options related to firmware updates. You may also check the HP support website for updates specific to your printer model.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
