My printer one day suddenly disconnected from the wifi actually the day was July 10th. I tried to reconnect it as per the manual but nothing works. The printer now shows an error 61 error after i try connecting to wifi a few times, there is also an asterisk besides a blinking wifi signal. I need some help in resolving this error. I have reset my modem and turned off the printer multiple times and back on again but nothing seems to work and make the printer connect to the internet/wifi. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

@Jev40h9g0he, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you're experiencing Error 61 and Wi-Fi connectivity issues with your HP LaserJet MFP M234dwe printer.
Error 61 typically indicates a network or configuration issue, not a paper jam. The blinking Wi-Fi light and asterisk suggest the printer is trying to connect but failing due to incorrect settings or a corrupted connection profile. Let's work through this together.
Restore Wi-Fi Setup Mode
This resets the printer’s wireless settings and allows you to reconnect it fresh.
- On the printer control panel, press and hold the Wireless button for 10 seconds until the Ready light blinks.
- This puts the printer into Wi-Fi setup mode.
Reconnect Using HP Smart App
Use the HP Smart app to reconnect the printer to your Wi-Fi network.
- Download or open the HP Smart app on your Windows 11 PC or mobile device.
- Click “+” to add a printer.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to connect your printer to Wi-Fi.
If the printer isn’t found, make sure:
- Your device is on the same Wi-Fi network.
- Bluetooth is enabled (for discovery).
- The printer is in Wi-Fi setup mode (see Step 1).
Check for Firmware Updates
Outdated firmware can cause connectivity issues.
- Go to HP Software & Driver Downloads
- Enter your printer model: HP LaserJet MFP M234dwe
- Download and install any available firmware updates.
Reset Network Settings (if needed)
If the issue persists, you can reset the printer’s network settings:
- On the printer, go to Settings > Network Setup > Restore Network Defaults.
- Reboot the printer and repeat the connection steps.
