HI @pcroam,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
A false paper jam error on the HP OfficeJet Pro 9015, especially with the print carriage stuck, can be quite frustrating. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you resolve this issue:
1. Power Cycle the Printer
- Turn Off the Printer: Press the power button to turn off the printer.
- Unplug the Printer: Disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer.
- Wait: Leave it unplugged for about 60 seconds.
- Plug It Back In: Reconnect the power cord and turn the printer back on.
2. Check for Actual Paper Jam
- Open All Accessible Areas: Open the front and rear access doors of the printer.
- Remove Any Paper: Carefully remove any paper or debris that you find, even if it’s not immediately obvious.
- Inspect the Paper Path: Look inside the printer for any small bits of paper or objects that might be causing a blockage.
3. Inspect the Print Carriage
- Manually Move the Carriage: Gently move the print carriage back and forth. It should move smoothly. If it's stuck, avoid using excessive force.
- Check for Obstructions: Look around the print carriage and inside the printer for anything that might be obstructing its movement.
4. Check the Carriage Mechanism
- Open the Carriage Access: With the printer turned off, open the cartridge access door.
- Remove and Reinstall Cartridges: Carefully remove the ink cartridges and reinstall them, making sure they are seated properly.
- Check the Carriage Path: Ensure there are no objects or pieces of paper in the path of the print carriage.
5. Reset the Printer
- Perform a Hard Reset: Turn off the printer and unplug it. Wait for about 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on. This can sometimes reset the sensors and resolve false error messages.
6. Check for Firmware Updates
- Download Updates: Visit the HP Support website and check if there are any firmware updates available for your OfficeJet Pro 9015.
- Install Updates: Follow the instructions provided to update the firmware, which might address software-related issues.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
