put disk in to set up, when adding printer it asked for Printer WPS PIN for Direct-25-HP OfficeJet 3830. Where do i find this info so can add printer to laptop.

I reviewed the case regarding issues with the WPS pin for the printer. I will be delighted to assist you here.  

 

Superb description, brilliant troubleshooting and terrific observations made before posting. Kudos to you for that. 😉 

 

For better clarity and to assist you correctly, I would require more information regarding this:  

 

Did you try any troubleshooting steps before contacting us? How long are you facing this issue? 

 

For now please try these steps: 

 

1. Be close enough to printer to see the display
2. On your computer, select Add Printer from the Control Panel
3. When you find your printer displayed select it
4. When it asked for your WPS Pin take a look at the printer display. This number is shown at this time, but doesn't stay up long
5. Type the number into the space provided on your computer screen
6. Wait while it begins loading the printer.

 

This should do the trick for you.Please perform all these steps patiently as it is critical to resolving the issue. 

 

The trick is to remain patient, Going by your technical expertise and competence I am sure you will be able to perform these steps without breaking a sweat. 🙂

My laptop crashed so I am attempting to install my printer [an HP OfficeJet 3830 All-In-One Printer] on my other laptop. Unfortunately I am having some issues. First, I am supposed to choose between a Direct 03 OfficeJet printer or a Direct 67 OfficeJet printer. What's the difference?? Also, it's asking for the WPS PIN. I cannot find the information that came with the printer [I have since moved and there is a lot of stuff I haven't found since I moved]. I did find the box that the printer came in so I have the product number, serial number, and option number. But as far as a disk, there is none. I did attempt to follow the instructions given to someone else and read the numbers off of the printer screen. However, I'm assuming that since the other computer crashed and the printer was not uninstalled, it doesn't recognize that I'm attempting to install it onto a different computer because nothing happens. Absolutely nothing shows up on the printer screen. Do you have any other tips that I might be able to try? I really need my printer, as I have some papers that need to be printed off for various things right now. Thanks for any help you can offer.
