My HP5610 all-in--one printer has decided to print amazingly s-l-o-w. I went into HP printer solutions and ran their diagnostics and they said all-is-well. I went further into the help to try disabling the windows firewall and then the printer worked. I have Trend Micro and called them and they said that it is the windows firewall's problem. I just got the latest version of firewall from HP just before this happened. Now what do I do to fix the problem?

It looks very complicated for me, but I will give it a try. I am printing out this page now and it is taking the printer 30 sec per line now. Thank you very much for your help in advance of my feeble attempt in interpreting your steps into my computer...Bob

Shane. Thanks for your reply, but that is the first thing that I did. I spoke with a tech in real-time and he said that it is the computer firewall that is blocking the printer spool. He referred me to Microsoft. I did get another response from an HP tech who told me the steps, but I haven't gotten up the courage to start...too **bleep** old and afraid that I will mess up the whole system.

sorry...forgot to give you a kudo, shane. Again, thanks for your help. Actually, I suspect that HP gave me this problem to encourage me to buy a new printer. The problem happened just after an update from HP.

Hey Smuguser,
I understand you are having an issue with installing your Printer Software.
First try to click the Windows icon, type services in the Search box, and then click or tap View Local Services. Scroll down to the Windows Installer. Startup type should be - Automatic, and Service Status should be - started
Restart the computer after this step and try installing again.
Hope it helps.
Thanks
