Hi @brian_t,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you've already tried running the head cleaning utility and are still experiencing issues with ink flow, there are a few additional steps you can take to potentially resolve the problem:
Manual Cleaning: Sometimes, ink cartridges or the print head itself can get clogged with dried ink. You can try manually cleaning them. Here's how:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Open the printer cover to access the ink cartridges.
- Remove the cartridges carefully.
- Dampen a lint-free cloth or cotton swab with distilled water. Do not use alcohol or other solvents.
- Gently wipe the copper contacts on the cartridges and the contacts inside the printer where the cartridges sit.
- If the printer has a removable print head, you can also try removing it and gently cleaning it with distilled water and a lint-free cloth.
- Allow everything to dry completely before reinstalling the cartridges and print head.
- Plug the printer back in and turn it on.
Check for Debris: Sometimes, debris or paper dust can accumulate inside the printer, obstructing the ink flow. Carefully inspect the printer's interior and remove any visible debris.
Use Genuine Ink Cartridges: Using third-party or refilled ink cartridges can sometimes cause issues with ink flow. Ensure you are using genuine HP ink cartridges for optimal performance.
Update Printer Firmware: Make sure your printer's firmware is up to date. Sometimes, firmware updates include fixes for printing issues. Update the firmware on an HP printer
